The material list for this structure was generated in just moments, using SoftList. All the information was taken from the floor plans.
Almost all items that you draw with in SoftPlan are “objects”.
Each of these objects will have a defined composition and subsequent price. For instance, a 90mm internal wall will have a bottom plate, a top plate, one row of noggins and studs at 600mm centers with plasterboard on both sides. Each wall type can be defined according various parameters. Subsequently SoftList can easily count the lineal meters of this wall type and calculate the materials and extract their cost from your cost tables.
SoftList allows for comprehensive timber tables which will allow pricing from several suppliers and different grades of timber from each supplier.
Timber materials can be configured to be reported as total length or as an accurate length for each separate member.
Several methods of estimate may be configured on your system and recalled at the click of a button.Eg, detailed or summary.
Windows, doors, symbols and items can have a value attached to them. SoftList will not only count and price the item but will provide for your mark-up and fixing labour.
All SoftList formulas are editable by you. If the formula does not accurately reflect the way you build, you may simply edit the formula. You may create your own items and write a formula to calculate the material required.
SoftList reports can be exported to spread sheet, estimating and accounting programs.
All that is required to utilise SoftPlan and SoftList as an estimating program is to draw the floor plan. There is no need to generate elevations, sections or 3D to produce a comprehensive, accurate material list.
