ROOFING
Once the floor plan has been drawn the roof may be placed on the load
bearing walls or beams, this is accomplished very easily with the use of the "Autoroof" or "Trace a roof"
commands.
Autoroof will automatically generate a hip roof on almost any shape of a dwelling, this hip roof can then be
edited to have Gables, Dutch Gables etc on each roof edge.
Trace a roof is a similar command to Auto roof but a
line is traced around the walls and a roof will be generated, this feature gives unlimited roof style
combinations as it allows separate roof sections to be defined and combined.
With features like Autoroof, False Gable, False Dormer, Cut Hole and
Add Skylight designing roofs have never been so easy. You have complete control of roof parameters like overhang,
fascia width, gutter profile, drop off and other values.
For verandah and skillion roofs, beams can be positioned where
necessary and the roof pitched as per accepted construction methods.
PROFILES
From the images above you will see that Roof Mode is
very flexible, allowing for a combination of roof types. Apart from the common hip, gable and dutch gable you
can design you own styles with Profiles.
Adding Bullnose verandahs has never been so easy, just edit the roof
edge and select appropriate profile and roof will be applied. All roofs being displayed in 3D, elevations and
sections.
Profiles allow you to draw the shape or profile of the roof with the line
draw tools, then apply this shape to the roof edge. So instead of having a straight, flat surface you can
create custom curved roof lines simply and quickly.

quickly and easily.
